David Brennan, MBA, CFA®

Chief Investment Officer

David Brennan's introduction to competitive discipline came on a baseball diamond at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, where he played for four years while completing his undergraduate degree in finance. The habits that carried him through that experience- preparation, consistency, a long view of what it takes to perform well- have followed him into every professional role since.

After graduating, David built his early career at an Ameriprise office in St. Joseph, Michigan, working directly with clients as a financial advisor. He later moved into a Portfolio Strategist role at Oxford Financial Group in Carmel, Indiana, where he developed the analytical depth that now defines his work as Chief Investment Officer at Family Business Legacies. He completed his MBA in Finance in 2017 and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation, one of the most rigorous credentials in the investment profession, and is an active member of the CFA Society in Indianapolis.

In his role at Family Business Legacies, David leads the firm's investment strategy and works alongside advisors to build portfolios tailored to each client's specific situation, timeline, and goals. His experience across both advisor-facing and institutional investment functions gives him a perspective that goes beyond portfolio construction, one that accounts for how investment decisions connect to the larger financial picture a family is trying to build.

Outside of work, David and his wife McKenzie spend their time with their two children, Mitchell and Joelle, exploring parks and staying active. He is a committed Ohio State fan, follows the Buckeyes through every fall season, and plays piano with aspirations of eventually adding the guitar.
